Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology visits the ESCANBER project at RRIV


10On Jan. 9, 2012, Japanese Minister of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Mr. Masaharu Nakagawa, visited the“Carbon Cycle System with Natural Rubber” project at the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam (RRIV).

The institute is responsible for researching the cooperative “Carbon Cycle System with Natural Rubber” project with leading scientists from Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam (RRIV), aiming at establishing a modern natural rubber production system.

Professor Masao Fukuda of the Nagaoka University of Technology said "the project will develop new methods of natural rubber production as well as advanced technology for rubber wastewater treatment, a process that produces methane, helping reduce consumption of synthetic rubber and the release of carbon dioxide".

It is expected that the project will contribute to minimising global warming and dealing with environmental issues such as water pollution.
